Kaws is an amazing Brooklyn based contemporary artist comparable to the likes of Keith Haring and Basquiat. He started out as a street artist, then to toys and now various artworks and collaborations with fashion designers. He even once had his first own "Companion" (featured image on this deck of cards) walk the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade as a giant float!
